Police Rescue 48 Women in Crackdown on Sexual Exploitation in Kajiado

Detectives have rescued 48 young women in separate operations targeting alleged sexual exploitation and the production of obscene content in Ongata Rongai and Kiserian, Kajiado County.

According to the Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Facebook post, police raided a house in Ongata Rongai in the Rimpa area and rescued 30 women aged between 19 and 27 who were allegedly being exploited in the commercial production of explicit online content.

During the operation, detectives recovered seven laptops fitted with cameras and other equipment believed to have been used in producing the content. The suspects arrested are being held at Ongata Rongai Police Station pending further investigations and court arraignment.

“Thanks to a joint effort by Police officers from Kiserian and Rongai Police Stations, 18 women were rescued from this grim reality and placed under police protection”, reports DCI.
In a separate operation in neighbouring Kiserian, detectives rescued 18 women who had allegedly been lured with promises of domestic jobs but were instead forced into sexual exploitation and commercial prostitution.

“The prime suspect remains at large, with detectives pursuing crucial leads to bring the individual to justice”.

Police also recovered mobile phones, laptops and other items believed to have been used in the illegal operation. The main suspect is still on the run, with detectives pursuing leads to arrest them.
The rescued women have been placed under police protection and will receive shelter, psychosocial support and medical care.

DCI said investigations are ongoing to identify other suspects and dismantle the criminal networks behind the alleged exploitation.

Parliament Liaison Committee Meets in Mombasa to Clear Legislative Backlog

The Parliamentary Liaison Committee is meeting in Mombasa to fast-track key House business as Parliament enters its final year before adjourning for the 2027 General Election. Led by Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss, the lawmakers are seeking to accelerate key legislation, budget matters and committee work ahead of the elections. Government Urged to End Abductions Across the Country

Center for Litigation Trust (CFLT) has condemned the recent abduction of Standard group Editor Alex Kiprotich. The  independent Pan-African public interest law center emphasized the need for Journalists to be protected to be able to perform their duties.  The Trust's Executive Director Mr. Julius Ogogoh further demanded the government to issue a public statement rejecting forced dissapearance and abductions.
