Police Arrest Two Suspects With Illicit Drugs in Kilifi


Police have  arrested two suspected drug traffickers and a consignment of cannabis sativa recovered following a coordinated operation by officers from Mariakani Police Station in Kilifi County.

The officers intercepted a motorcycle ferrying the narcotics at Njoro area of Mariakani Township, leading to the arrest of Ali Mbaji alias “Mkadinali” and Rashid Mustafa alias “Malalo.”
Police recovered 59 and 25 large rolls of bhang respectively, bringing the total haul to 84 large rolls.

The suspects are in police custody, undergoing processing pending arraignment. 

"Meanwhile, the recovered narcotics and the motorcycle have been detained as exhibits", reads police report.

Government Urged to End Abductions Across the Country

Center for Litigation Trust (CFLT) has condemned the recent abduction of Standard group Editor Alex Kiprotich. The  independent Pan-African public interest law center emphasized the need for Journalists to be protected to be able to perform their duties.  The Trust's Executive Director Mr. Julius Ogogoh further demanded the government to issue a public statement rejecting forced dissapearance and abductions.
