Bus Passenger Nabbed with Ksh 1 Million Heroin Haul


Police have arrested a passenger from a Nairobi bound bus at Taru near Voi and recovered Heroin worth Ksh 1 million.

According to DCI,the suspect, 38-year-old Brian Tabu Owuor, was found with a brown bag with heroin concealed inside.

Police say the acted on after detectives from the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) intercepted a Nairobi-bound bus and uncovered a stash of heroin worth approximately Sh1 million.

"Acting on a tip off, the detectives mounted an operation along the Mombasa–Nairobi Highway at Taru, where they flagged down the bus for a search".



Police say the suspect was also found with Ksh 95,000 in cash.

"Seated at Seat No. 29, the suspect was found in possession of a brown bag that concealed far more than personal belongings. Inside were four sachets of heroin weighing a total of 300 grammes, along with Sh95,000 in cash believed to be proceeds of crime".

The suspect is currently in police custody undergoing processing pending arraignment.
