Governor Nassir to Build Level 4 Kongowea Hospital

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has launched the construction of the Kongowea Level 4 Hospital in Nyali Constituency.

‎Accompanied by his Homa Bay counterpart, Gladys Wanga, Nassir said the project will cost Ksh 250 million.

‎He noted that the Level 4 hospital will accommodate 72 beds and is intended to ease pressure on the Coast General Referral Hospital.

‎“You will not need to cross the ferry, pass through Makupa Causeway, or travel from Bamburi to access services at Makadara. This facility will help ease the burden on our people,” said Nassir.

‎The governor also dismissed his political detractors, insisting he will not fall into the trap of tribal politics. He stated that his track record will earn him a second term in office.

‎“Politics is not about appearances. We will be judged by our record, not empty rhetoric. Let them look at what I have done in education, health, and even in ensuring prompt salary payments to county staff,” he added.

‎Nassir also announced that the hospital will be renamed Raila Odinga Kongowea Hospital upon completion, in honour of Raila Odinga.

‎Kongowea MCA Sammy Mwaura called for local residents to be given priority for jobs during the construction phase.
